For wedding suppliers deciding between us and Later.
WedSchedulePro vs Later — honestly.
Where we win, where they still lead, and why we built it anyway.
I built WedSchedulePro because Later and Buffer never plugged into how the work is actually made — you finish in Lightroom, then start again in a browser. Here’s a straight comparison: no cherry-picking, no hidden asterisks. Where Later’s still ahead, I’ll tell you.
WedSchedulePro Solo vs Later Growth.
| Capability | WedSchedulePro Solo | Later Growth |
|---|---|---|
| AI captions | Unlimited — no meter, no credit allowance | 50 AI credits a month |
| Client approvals | Free — on every plan, including Free | Gated to Later’s Growth plan — $37.50/mo (billed annually) |
| Post straight from Lightroom | Yes — publish from the WedSchedulePro panel in Lightroom, captioned | No |
| The queue | Yes — stack posts and they fire on schedule | Yes — a basic queue |
| Platforms | All 8 at launch — Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Google Business | its supported set |
| Wedding-organised library | Yes — every photo in a named Project | No |
| National blog submission | Yes — guided, you send it, free on every plan | No |
| Price | £29/mo (£24/mo annual) | $37.50/mo (billed annually) |
Our prices are in pounds; Later’s in dollars, at Later’s annual rate. We don’t do the currency maths for you — compare on what each plan actually gives you.
Three things we do that don’t need an asterisk.
Unlimited AI captions. The AI reads the scene in your photo and writes a caption — you get the final say — with no meter and no monthly credit allowance to run out of mid-wedding.
Client approvals, free on every plan — including Free. Route a post for sign-off before it goes out. Optional, off by default, and never an upgrade.
Post straight from Lightroom. Flag your favourites in the WedSchedulePro panel, hit Publish, and they land captioned in your library — no export, no re-upload.
Where Later’s still ahead.
Later’s been at this a long time, and there are things it does that we’re still building, or doing differently on purpose: a more finished mobile app, broader analytics and link-in-bio tooling, and a longer list of established integrations. Some of that’s on our roadmap; some we won’t chase, because it’s not what a wedding supplier’s evening actually needs.
What I won’t pretend: if you want a mature mobile app and the broadest analytics today, Later’s the more finished tool for it right now. What I will say: for taking a finished wedding from Lightroom to posted — captioned, approved, without rebuilding the job — nothing does it the way we do.
Why I built it anyway.
I’m a wedding photographer. Later worked fine for posting — but it never touched the part that actually cost me my evenings: exporting the set, re-uploading it, captioning it, one platform at a time. WedSchedulePro starts inside Lightroom and does that part. If Later fits how you work, it’s a good tool. If your job starts in a catalogue full of photos you just finished, this was built for you.
